What is a Platform?

We use an investment platform at ALM Financial. This is essentially a secure online account that brings all of your investments together so that you can view them in one place. So you can hold different tax wrappers in one place. You also will be able to gain access to view your holdings if you wish.

Benefits of a Platform:

​

Family linking – this is where the Platform will allow your family members values on their portfolios to be added together when calculating charges. The family members have to have the same adviser at the same firm. This can include parents, siblings and children (three generations). Once over a combined value of £200,000.00, the total amount will be used to calculate the overall percentage charge.

Pre-Funding – one of the ways the Platform can add real value is by pre-funding certain investment transactions for example Pension Relief at source. So what is happening here, is it is reducing the amount of time you spend out of the market, investing your money at the earliest possible opportunity.
